On a remote island far from anywhere in the world, two friends live a lazy life in their tiny town. What once was a very tight friendship, slowly watered down as they grew older. While one was content with his life on the island, the other wanted more.

On a windy night, he sails his boat far away in search for something more. In anger the other stays at home, not noticing what’s happening outside: lightning struck on a summer house near the sea, and the fire started spreading…”

Travel away to Kaji Island, an apocalyptic weirdo-pop album about lost friendship and regrets. Written in a steaming hot summer in 2018, Kaji Island is a product of Jasper Boogaard’s obsessive tinkering with synthesizers and inspiration drawn from childhood summer vacations and Tove Jansson’s books about the Moomins.
